This post is to all the dads out there who hold it down! 21st century dads have evolved a long way from dads in previous years. Not that the dads of yesteryear were any less of a dad. It’s just that dads of years ago were responsible for providing a home and bringing in the money for the household. Moms were responsible for the household — children included. Moms generally stayed at home, cooked, cleaned, took care of the children, helped them with their homework, attended school meetings and whatever else needed to happen to make sure the household ran smoothly.
Dads today do all of that too and then some. Dads today are more hands on — or at least more public about it. They can be seen in the birthing room holding their wife’s hand and coaching her through the delivery process, they can be seen in the grocery stores shopping for the family with the baby strapped to their front or dropping off and picking up their children from school. They cook, clean, feed the baby, and change diapers. All of this, in addition to the traditional male duties of tending to the yard, taking out the trash and maintaining/repairing the cars. Some are even stay at home dads!
Moms get a lot of recognition, and rightly so, but let’s be sure to honor dads properly on today. For the wives/significant others, find something special you can do with him as an added bonus. I hear they like when you play dress up!
